Uttarakhand Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project (Swajal)

Samarpit Sewa Sansthan had the privileged of preparing Detail Project Report (DPR) 2011-12 on water supply and sanitation for village Dabar, Gram Panchayat Gamri, Block- Chinyalisaur (Distt. Uttrakhand), under Distt. Implementing Agency (DIA), SWAJAL- DPMU- Uttarakashi (Uttrakhand).

For the base year and the design year the population of Dabar hamlet is 174 and 226 ,respectively. In the DPR Sem Khadd Gadhera was tapped as a source for water supply scheme. The water source has been found to be perennial and there is no other source of water supply in the vicinity of the habitation.

The rate of water supply has been taken as 10 Lpcd for private connection and 40 Lpcd for general stand posts. However, 15% wastage has been taken as a design criteria. The total water requirement for population at initial and ultimate stage of year 2012 and 2027 works out to 8.00 Kld/5.56 Lpm and 12.74 kld/8.85 Lpm, respectively. Supply and main distribution system has been designed as per Hazen Willian´s formula and roughness coefficient has been taken as 100.

Necessary technical provisions have been made for maintenance of the supply system. It is recorded that Samarpit Sewa Sansthan has the necessary technical manpower and equipments to undertake project preparation work related to water supply and sanitation, over and above other social empowerment programs.
